Chivalry is a very difficult thing to define.  At its core is the root word Cheval which means horse in French.  Thus, Chivalry was used to define those who rode a horse into battle, the mounted Knight.  Beyond this simple assessment, Chivalry has blossomed into a code of honor that Knights swear to uphold and strive to achieve.  As a consequence, Chivalry is the standard by which we measure the ideal Knight.  At Summer Knights, our goal is to create a very real understanding of Chivalry in the hearts and minds of our young Knights-in-training.  Each activity Knights engage in is designed to offer subtle (and sometimes not so subtle) insight into the world of Chivalry and all it can offer, to family, friends, the community and the world abroad.  In short, a Chivalrous person makes the world a better place.  At Summer Knights, we aim to change the world, one Chivalrous Knight at a time!

Herein is a simple breakdown of some of the goals of Chivalry.  Study them.  Learn them.  Take them to heart.  And strive to embody all that they have to offer and no doubt, you will begin to understand the role of the Knight in the modern world.
